Information about the exhibition:
"The exhibition project brought together the most recent works acquired under the Acquisitions programme, which has been boosting the contemporary art section of the Municipal Art Collection since 2018.

Broadening the repertoire of the Collection, this new set of pieces sought to encompass a greater multiplicity of artists and practices, in a more inclusive and pluralistic logic. The independent selection committee was composed of the artist Mauro Cerqueira, the collector Pedro Álvares Ribeiro and the curator and art historian Pedro de Llano, who considered the artistic, historical and critical value of the works presented.

Essays on a Collection featured works by Ana Hatherly, António Manso Preto, AURA, Bruno Zhu, Carla Cruz & Ângelo Ferreira de Sousa, Carlos Mensil, Carolina Grilo Santos, Diana Policarpo & Odete, Janaína Wagner, Jiôn Kiim, João Pedro Trindade, José Almeida Pereira, Júlia Ventura, Kenny Berg B2B Ronaldo Rosas, Leonor Parda, Letícia Costelha, Maíra Mafra, Maria José Aguiar, Maria José Oliveira, Maria Miguel Rodrigues, Mariana Barrote, Miguel Leal, Paulo Pinto, Pedro Huet, Rigo 23 / Intergalactic Autonomous Space Program, Rita de Almeida Leite, Rita Senra, Rodolfo Lopes, Ruca Bourbon a.k.a.
